Microsoft has revealed upcoming games coming to Xbox Game Pass, including a stellar RPG that likely went unnoticed.
Leading this month’s Xbox Game Pass lineup is Expeditions: Rome. Part historical drama, part turn-based tactics and part character-based RPG, it puts you in the boots of a Roman general. You’ll be leading armies of Legionnaires across Greece and Gaul, before approaching patrician villages to navigate the political wranglings of the Senate. It didn’t receive much fanfare when it launched earlier this year, but its ambition is reason enough to check it out.
Microsoft also announced (opens in new tab) that Ghost Recon Wildlands will be coming to the subscription service. The latest Ubisoft title to come to Game Pass after Watch Dogs 2 and Assassin’s Creed Origins, the military simulator puts you in a huge open world overrun by a fictional drug cartel. While we don’t consider it to be one of the best co-op games, you can play with up to three friends.
The long-awaited university management simulator Two Point Campus will also be released on Game Pass for launch day. The sequel to Two Point Hospital, we really enjoyed our time with the game. I found it to be the perfect remedy for my pent-up greed during a previous practice.
tracing and intrigue
Also coming to Game Pass is Turbo Golf Racing, a quirky multiplayer racing game that feels like a mix of Rocket League and golf. Cooking Simulator, Martian RTS Offworld Trading Company, and circuit board puzzler Shenzhen I/O are also coming.
Here’s when all these games will hit Game Pass in August:
- Shenzhen I/O (PC) – August 4th
- turbo golf race (Cloud, PC and Xbox Series X|S) – August 4
- two point campus (Cloud, Console and PC) – August 9
- Cooking Simulator (Cloud, Console and PC) – August 11
- Expeditions: Rome (PC) – August 11
- Foreign Trade Company (PC) – August 11
As usual, some games will also leave the platform. Boyfriend Dungeon is a weird but brilliant mix of dungeon crawler and dating sim. With a main story that only takes about 6 hours to complete, it’s well worth playing before it leaves Game Pass on August 15th.
Curse of the Dead Gods, Library of Ruina, Starmancer, and Train Sim World 2 will also be out on that date.
