You can now save 10% on one of Apple’s most expensive and best PCs, the Mac Studio, as long as you’re happy to get a refurbished model.
Just three months after the launch of the powerful creative workstation, the units are already appearing on Remodeled official Apple store in the US (opens in new tab) and UK (opens in new tab) for a decent discount. The device that usually costs at least $1,999 / £1,999 can be had for $1,799 / £1,799.
Apple’s disk-like PC might not look impressive, but it’s easily one of the best we’ve tested as far as creative professionals go. The refurbished model available at the time of writing (in the US and UK) is the base version.
Despite being technically less impressive than the more expensive versions, you’ll still get a PC with 32GB of memory, a 512GB SSD, and Apple’s mighty M1 Max chip. We could see more powerful Mac Studios coming to the refurbished store soon too – it really depends if any are returned.
Our Opinion: We Should All Be Buying Apple’s Refurbished Technology
If you’re into some Apple tech, whether you’re concerned about the cost or not, we recommend you check out their refurbished official store first.
While devices sold through it have technically been used before, your purchase will have been inspected, cleaned, repaired (if necessary) and recertified by Apple – and your internal battery and external housing are always replaced with new ones.
Plus, the revamped technology will come in an all-new box with all your usual cables and accessories, plus a 1-year warranty (which can be upgraded with the usual set of Apple Care options). It’s basically indistinguishable from a new version of the same model, but it has a lower cost and is a bit more eco-friendly.
You might find that your choices are a little more limited than buying a new one – some devices like the Apple Watch 7 aren’t available right now – and it can still be more expensive than the best budget phones or the best budget smartwatches available on the market. . But if you’re desperate to get an iPhone 13 or iPad Pro 12.9 (2020), there’s not much reason not to head to Apple’s refurbished store instead of buying a new one.
